PrompterPal

Teleprompter in your browser

Your text runs. You look into the camera.

PrompterPal shows your script on the iPad in front of the camera, and your phone is the remote that drives it. Nothing to install, nothing to set up, and when the network drops on set the prompter simply keeps running.

No trial period, no credit card. The free tier is a full prompter and stays one.

WELCOME

TANJA

Good to have you here. In the next two minutes I will show you how to write your first script.

[click on Projects]

We start with projects, because that is where every script lives.

After that we look at the remote, on the device you are holding anyway.

This is what the prompter looks like while it runs. 140 words per minute 1:48 left

Three reasons this works on set

A teleprompter is not software you work with. It is a device you forget about the moment the camera rolls.

You stand at the camera, not at a computer

The iPad sits on the lens, your phone drives it: start, stop, faster, slower, jump chapters, black screen. Pairing is a QR code, and whoever holds the remote needs no account.

It keeps running without a network

Once the page has loaded, the prompter no longer needs the network. Reading, running, jumping and editing carry on. Whatever you change in a dead spot goes up as soon as there is signal again.

It listens instead of scrolling blindly

With the microphone on, the text follows the pace you speak. Take a pause and you have it. Speed up and it will not leave you behind. And if you prefer a steady crawl, set words per minute and leave the microphone off.

How a shoot goes

  1. 1

    Write the script

Type it here, paste it in, or upload your Word document. Speaker names, chapters and stage directions are understood on their own, without a single menu.

  2. 2

    iPad on the camera

Open the page, go full screen, mirror it if there is glass in front. The screen stays awake as long as someone is reading.

  3. 3

    Phone in your hand

Point the camera at the QR code and you have the remote. Also for the person standing next to the camera and reading along.

On set

What matters on a shooting day is decided in seconds

So every move has a way that works without thinking about it, and the most common ones have several.

A foot pedal instead of fingertips

Foot pedals, presenters and Bluetooth clickers show up as a keyboard and drive the prompter, without a network and without a phone in between. Which key does what, you teach it once: press the key, done.

One QR code and the phone takes over

The prompter shows the code, the phone scans it, the remote is open. If two sets run in the same project, give each one a location name, and every phone drives only its own iPad.

A typo? Fix it from the phone

Tap the paragraph, change the wording, save. Two seconds later the right sentence stands on the iPad, and the running prompter keeps its place in the text.

Two prompters, one position

Your guest gets an iPad of their own. Both show the same line, each with its own type size, its own mirroring and its own speaker colours: their lines bright on their device, yours on yours.

Readable, also when reading is hard

Three fonts, five colour schemes and three contrast levels, plus line spacing, letter spacing and column width. All of it is free, in every tier: bad eyesight should not cost extra.

The time left, always in view

The prompter keeps track of how long your text still takes, per chapter and in total. Pauses in square brackets count in, and against a target time it tells you whether you will make it.

Before the shoot

From the manuscript to sign-off

A script rarely arrives finished. Usually it sits in Word, passes through three pairs of hands and changes once more on the morning of the shoot.

Word, PDF and whatever else turns up

Upload the document, look at the preview: your document on the left, the finished script on the right. Headings become chapters, italic lines become stage directions, and when directions and dialogue sit in two columns we ask which one is spoken.

An editor that knows the text

Speakers and chapters are coloured, the outline sits beside them, and hints point out the speaker without a line or the chapter without a name. What you paste from Word loses its formatting but not its structure.

Sign-off without an account

Your client gets a link, reads the text exactly as the prompter will show it, and writes a comment on the spot it is about. You get one digest email, not ten separate ones.

Every save is a version

You see what changed and bring back any earlier version with one click. On shooting day this is the insurance against that one cut which turned out not to be a good idea.

Bring your own AI

Your AI, your key, your bill

We provide no AI and bill for none. You store your own access, we pass the request through. Nothing of a revision stays with us: no request, no answer, no log. Only what you explicitly take over becomes a version of your script.

OpenAI, Anthropic and any address that speaks the format of OpenAI.

All features

No sign up

Two tools you can use right now

Neither needs an account, a credit card or an installation. Try the prompter before you decide anything at all.

Free prompter

Paste your text, go full screen, speak. With speakers, chapters, voice following and foot pedals. Your text stays in the browser on your device.

Reading time calculator

How long does your script take? Paste it, pick a speaking pace, see the duration. Pauses count in, nothing is stored.

Who it is for

For everyone who speaks into a camera

A teleprompter is no longer a tool for television studios. It is for everyone with something to say who would rather not look down while saying it.

Video professionals Podcast and YouTube Trainers Companies making explainer videos Churches and clubs

The next shoot will come

Create an account, paste your text, put the iPad on the camera. It takes no longer than that.
